Bet on Courtland Sutton to Thrive vs. Raiders
By Reed Wallach
Courtland Sutton has had an up-and-down 2021 season. One year removed from a torn ACL, we have seen the Denver Broncos wide receiver show his elite talent with a pair of games over 120 receiving yards. However, we have also seen him struggle, with three games of 50 yards or less.
So, which Sutton will we see on Sunday?
WynnBET Sportsbook doesn't have a firm stance, setting his receiving yards total at 62.5 (Over -115/Under -115) for Sunday, however there's reason to believe he will clear that number.
For starters, Sutton has 19 targets over his last two games. With a depleted wide receivers corps that has injuries to Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler, the fourth year pro has emerged as one of the lone reliable targets for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
Further, the Raiders secondary looks solid on the surface, 12th in defensive pass success, but is susceptible to big plays, 29th in explosive pass defense.
I expect the Broncos to find success through the air at home on Sunday, and Sutton is going to get his fair share. It's also worth noting that he has bene on the field for at least 90% of snaps the past two games. You can't get the ball if you're on the sidelines, but that hasn't been an issue for the wide out of late.
Count on Sutton to look like the one last week, seven catches for 120 yards and a touchdown, and not the one who has been shutdown at times.
