Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offensive starters are expected to play a series or two in this game, as are the Jets starters. That's coach slang for: if you score on the first possession, we'll let you rest the remainder of the game. Motivation is a hell of a cocktail and I believe the Eagles starters will use that to fuel a first-drive score. But more than that, I like the Eagles depth way more than I like the Jets depth, and that's why I'm betting on them to win this thing.
Beyond Jalen Hurts/Philly's offense being far superior to Zach Wilson and the Jets, in a battle between Gardner Minshew vs Joe Flacco as the backup QBs, I'm rolling with Minshew mania all day. I feel like he's the kinda guy who gets up for every opportunity. Preseason or regular season be damned, I just like Minshew Mania more than Joe Cool.
The Eagles have more depth at the skill positions too. Their offensive and defensive schemes are more established and they're playing at home.
Of course, betting on preseason is a bit like flipping a coin. But I think this coin is weighted on one side and I'll take my chances of picking the home team.
