Betting Odds Indicate Brooklyn Nets Likely to Keep Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving

So, now what?

The Brooklyn Nets have reportedly been underwhelmed with trade offers for Kevin Durant following his trade request from the team at the start of free agency; making it more likely that the team keeps Durant and Kyrie Irving. Betting odds had pushed the Nets far out from the top of the board, but the team has moved back to their original number at +1200.

This comes after the end of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, where most, if not all, league executives were on hand for the better part of a week.

It appears that Nets General Manager Sean Marks was not fond of any of the offers to date as this saga drags out further. Without a fair return for Durant, who is under contract for four more seasons, the Nets may turn to trying to remedy the situation with him, the front office, and Kyrie Irving, who opted into his player option for one more season.

The latest from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski highlights that the Nets are still trying to find the right deal for Durant, but that it hasn't come to the light.

With no deal for Durant, that also increases the chances for Irving to come back after tense negotiations this offseason. There appears to be a limited market for the guard, with only the Lakers being interested. Considering the Lakers need to find a suitor for Russell Westbrook as well to also take on Irving, a trade isn't all that appealing to the Nets.

Based on the reporting, it appears that the Nets are trying to figure out the Durant trade before takng care of Irving.
