The Big 12 heads to the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri for the 2022 Big 12 Tournament.

Kansas won the Big 12 regular season title for the second time in three seasons and now head to Kansas City as the No. 1 seed. There is a ton of intrigue around Baylor and Texas Tech, though, who enter as the second and third seed and have beaten Bill Self's team already this season.

While the Jayhawks are the No. 1 seed, are they the betting favorite? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Big 12 Conference Tournament Odds

  • Baylor: +195
  • Kansas: +210
  • Texas Tech: +350
  • Texas: +650
  • TCU: +1800

  • Oklahoma: +4000
  • Kansas State: +6000

Big 12 Conference Tournament Prediction and Pick

While there may be some flaws on Kansas roster, namely on the defensive end, their path to the title is far easier than Baylor's and I'll take them as my pick to cut down the nets.

The team will likely face Texas in the semifinals after they dispose of either West Virginia or Kansas State. While the team needed overtime this pat weekend to beat the Longhorns and lost on the road to them earlier in Big 12 play, I believe that in the conference tournament setting they should be able to thrive.

Ochai Agbaji and the Jayhawks played their fourth game in seven days this past weekend against Texas and left a ton of points on the board. Rejuvenated and in a tournament setting, I expect we see them get past them.

The team has the best offense in the Big 12 and a star in Agbaji who is shooting 41% from beyond the arc this season. The team lost to Baylor and Texas Tech already this season, but the Jayhawks should be the favorite given their path. They will likely be favored by either team in the Big 12 title game.

Big 12 Conference Tournament Dark Horse

You can look for long shots in some tournament fields, but the Big 12 is not one of them. This has been a fun conference this season with a ton of thrillers, but the top three teams are far superior in my eyes.

I'll focus on Texas Tech in this section, the third choice to cut down the nets at +350. The Red Raiders offense has some question marks and they are far from the same team away from Lubbock, Texas, but I believe that they match up well against Baylor in a semifinals matchup.

Mark Adams team beat Baylor twice this season and can make the Bears vulnerable front court pay with their rebounding ability. They also force turnovers at the second highest clip and completely shut off the paint for dribble drives. If Baylor hits their three's against TTU, then so be it, but the Red Raiders are more than capable of making it three in a row this season.

Then there's the final against Kansas, a team they beat and lost to in double overtime on the road. Again, this is a winnable game for the Red Raiders. While it may be best to play them in each game instead of at this future price, this is the best dark horse pick on the board.
