The Sunday Night Football matchup for Week 5 should be a good one as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium. The Bills and Chiefs’ offenses both currently rank second in the NFL in points per game, with an average of 33.5 points per game.

After taking a 23-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1, the Bills have won three straight games with a combined score of 118-21. Although all three of those wins came against the Miami Dolphins, the Washington Football Team, and the Houston Texans, that’s still pretty impressive.

The Chiefs were expected by many to run right back to Super Bowl 56, but have looked wobbly at times. They narrowly missed an 0-3 start with a three-point win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, but followed it up with a one-point loss to the Baltimore Ravens and a six-point loss to the AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City picked up a nice 42-30 rebound win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.

Bills vs. Chiefs Betting Trends

  • The Bills are 3-1 against the spread this season.
  • The Chiefs are 1-3 against the spread this season.
  • The Over is 5-0 in Buffalo’s last five games as an underdog.
  • Kansas City is 3-7 against the spread in its last 10 games.

Bills vs. Chiefs Prediction

The Chiefs allow 307 passing yards per game (27th in the NFL), 146 rushing yards per game (29th in the NFL), and 31,3 points per game (31st in the NFL). Kansas City’s defense has not gotten the job done at all, and they keep depending on quarterback Patrick Mahomes to outscore the opposing team to win games. This strategy can’t work forever.

The Chiefs are the stiffest competition Buffalo has faced this season, but now they most prove that they're for real. They smashed their recent competition, and while they're still NFL teams, it appeared they weren't even in the same league as the Bills!

I’m taking Buffalo at +130 and on the spread at +3 before those lines move down. In this battle of two potential MVP candidates in Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, I'm taking the over 57 too.
