Two of the bottom three teams in the Central Division will face-off in Monday night NHL action when the Winnipeg Jets host the Chicago Blackhawks.

At 41 points through their first 48 games, the Blackhawks' playoff hopes are all but dead. Meanwhile, the Jets still have a breath of life, as they sit 11 points back from the Blues with a game in hand. They'll need to start stringing wins together in a hurry to catch them.

The Jets downed the Blackhawks by a final score of 5-1 in their first meeting this season. A repeat performance tonight would give Winnipeg its second straight win.

Let's take a look at the odds via WynnBET for tonight's Central Division showdown.

Blackhawks vs. Jets Prediction and Pick

You'll struggle to find as many teams that have been as bad as the Chicago Blackhawks as of late. Over their last 25 games, they're 27th in CORSI%, dead last in high danger scoring chances, and 24th in save percentage, and 22nd in shooting percentage.

Meanwhile, the Jets, whose record isn't impressive, as done alright from an analytical perspective and I wouldn't be surprised to see them go on a little run in the coming weeks. One of the most promising stats, is that they rank sixth in the NHL in expected goals per 60 minutes over their last 25 games at 3.35. They've had some issues finding the back of the net, but I expect them to sort that issue out and start scoring in bunches.

I'm going to back the Jets in this one, and it's one of my more confident plays of the day.

Pick: Jets -160
