Blue Jays vs. Guardians Doubleheader Prediction and Odds for Saturday, May 7 (Value on Under, Cleveland at Home)
By Ben Heisler
Game 2 between the Cleveland Guardians and Toronto Blue Jays got washed away on Friday night, so both squads play two today from Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Game 1 gets underway at 2:10 pm ET in a marvelous pitching matchup, as two AL Cy Young favorites face off in Kevin Gausman and Shane Bieber.
In the second game, it's another solid matchup from the right side as Ross Stripling takes on Triston McKenzie.
Here are the latest odds for both sets of games over at WynnBET Sportsbook.

Blue Jays vs Guardians Doubleheader Prediction and Pick
I've written up betting on Kevin Gausman the last two times he's pitched and he's not only delivered, but exceeded expectations. The right-hander in his first season with the Blue Jays has an ERA of 2.27, and a fielder independent pitching (FIP) of 0.49! Perhaps just as remarkable, in just under 32 innings, he has 41 strikeouts and zero walks. ZERO!
However, he meets a worthy adversary in Game 1 vs. AL Cy Young favorite Shane Bieber, who after laboring through his first few starts of the season, is starting to find his rhythm. Bieber tied his season high with seven strikeouts vs. the A's in his last start, going seven strong innings and getting tons of whiffs on his offspeed pitches.
I'll trust both starting pitchers to continue their impressive ways, leading to the first five UNDER of 3.5 runs in a projected low scoring affair.
As for Game 2, Guardians starting pitcher Triston McKenzie has been very good as well with an ERA of 2.70 and a FIP separated by just 0.16 points (2.86). Perhaps it's a product of the deadened baseball, but his HR/9 is outstanding at just 0.39 through four starts this year.
He'll face Ross Stripling of the Blue Jays who has put up slightly similar numbers this year, not striking out many batters, but limiting damage and keeping the ball in the park (HR/9 of 0.47).
While the Blue Jays offense has much more thump than the Guardians 1-9, Cleveland's offense is in a nice rhythm over the last week, scoring at least six runs in four of their last six games. The Blue Jays, meanwhile, haven't scored six-plus runs since Friday, April 29.
With a slight discount on Cleveland in what appears to be a near-equal pitching matchup, I like the home team on the moneyline with some plus-value to boot.
PICK: GAME 1: First 5 UNDER 3.5 Runs | GAME 2: Guardians +113
