Mystic Mac strikes again. Well, maybe.

The Toronto Blue Jays are one game away from sweeping the New York Yankees and getting right back into the thick of the AL wild card race.

Just a few short days ago, the Jays were 4.5 games back and heavy underdogs to make the postseason. Now, if Toronto completes the sweep tonight, it will only be a half-game back from the highly pursued spot in the MLB postseason.

WynnBET Sportsbook has the Yankees set as slight -120 favorites to avoid the sweep tonight, and the Jays are set as +100 underdogs. The total for the game is set at 8.5 runs.

Blue Jays vs. Yankees Prediction and Pick

I mean, you saw my tweet, you know who I’m betting on.

Give me the Blue Jays once again, baby!

Trade deadline acquisition José Berríos gets the start for Toronto tonight, and it’s time that he does what the Jays got him for, which is to get them into the playoffs. This will surprisingly be the first time this season that he’ll face the Yankees, but he sports a respectable 3.55 ERA ahead of tonight’s start.

He’ll be facing Yankees lefty Nestor Cortes Jr., who hasn’t been as strong as a starter as he was when he came out of the bullpen for the first half of the season. He hasn’t faced the Blue Jays yet this year, but he runs into trouble when he isn’t able to strikeout batters, and Toronto is the second best team in the Majors in strikeout percentage (20.6%).

The Yankees rank dead last in the Majors this month in both batting average (.190) and OPS (.541) and I expect that trend to continue tonight. Give me the Jays at +100 to complete the series sweep.
