The Colorado Avalanche are one win away from securing a spot in the Western Conference Finals. But, the St. Louis Blues aren’t just going to roll over and show their belly because they trail 1-3. Making matters worse for the Blues, the Avs are 2-0 in STL and head home for Game 5 on Wednesday night. As if that weren't enough, the Blues will be without Jordan Binnington for the rest of the second round after the goalie collided with Nazem Kadri and was forced out of Game 3. His absence was felt in Game 4, as the Avs scored six goals on the Blues.

Here are the odds for Game 5, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Blues vs. Avalanche Odds and Total

Moneyline:

  • Blues +200
  • Avalanche -240

Puck line:

  • Blues +1.5 (-130)
  • Avalanche -1.5 (+110)

Total:

  • 6.5 (Over -115/Under -105)

Blues vs. Avalanche Prediction and Pick

The Blues were forced to start Ville Husso in the wake of Binnington’s injury and it didn’t go well at all. He allowed five of the 36 shots he saw to get by him and never looked totally comfortable in Game 4. Now, staring down the barrel of elimination, I am very suspicious of his ability to extend this series for St. Louis. The Blues have a lot of offensive weapons including David Perron and Pavel Burchnevich. But, if they can’t stop the Avalanche from scoring it doesn’t matter much.

Yet, the Avs are cruising after winning two in a row on the road and I like their chances to secure a series win in Game 5 on their home ice. Other than injuring the Blues' starting goalie, Kadri exploded for three goals in Game 3. He is not one of three Avs with five goals so far in the playoffs. At 7-3 in their last 10 home games, I like the Avs to add another victory to that total here.

Pick: Avalanche -1.5 (+110)
