Blues vs. Avalanche Prediction and Odds (Can Colorado Slow Down NHL's Hottest Team?)
By Matt De Saro
It’s gut-check time for NHL teams still jockeying for playoff positioning. The St. Louis Blues are one such team as they are currently tied at 109 points with the Minnesota Wild for the No. 2 spot in the Central Division. With just two games left to play, the Blues need to win out to give themselves the best chance at finishing second.
The Avalanche, on the other hand, clinched the Central Division already. However, despite being the best team in the group, the Avs have lost four games in a row.
Why? Because they can. Why not rest your best, brightest, and bruised players at this point? The Avs have no reason to win and they are proving that with losses to the Kraken and Jets in recent games.
Here are the odds for tonight’s matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Blues vs. Avalanche Prediction and Pick
The Blues have a fight on their hands to take over the No. 2 spot from the Wild. Luckily, the Blues have been the best team in the NHL since the start of April. Entering this game, the Blues are 12-1 straight up in their last 13 games and have shot up the standings. Vladimir Tarasenko has been a big reason for this surge with 11 goals and 13 assists in April.
I would say that the Avs are looking to break out of their losing streak. But, I’m not sure that is the case. If I were them, I’d be content with giving my starters as much time as possible before the playoffs start.
This game feels like a gift with the Avalanche heavily favored at home. I get it, the Avs are 31-5-3 at Ball Arena this season. But, they did lose their last game at home 3-2 last Monday. At these odds, it would be almost criminal not to take a chance on the Blues to win 13 of their last 14 games.
Pick: Blues +150 to win
