Blues vs Hurricanes Prediction and Odds: Carolina Continues to Prove its a Stanley Cup Contender
The Carolina Hurricanes have held on to the top spot in my NHL power rankings for two straight weeks, and for good reason. At 10-2-0, they hold the highest win percentage in the NHL and are alone at the top of the Metropolitan Division.
Tonight they take on a scrappy St. Louis Blues team, that currently sits in first place in the Western Conference's Central Division with an 8-2-2 record through their first 12 games.
Both teams will be look to rebound after a loss. The Blues fell to the Predators in overtime on Thursday night, and the Hurricanes fell to the Flyers in a close 2-1 contest on Friday.
Here's a look at the odds for tonight's interconference showdown, courtesy of WynnBET.

Blues vs. Hurricanes Prediction and Pick
One of my favorite things to do as a sports bettor is to sniff out a team with a fraudulent record, and then bet against them until their record regresses to where it should be. That's exactly what I'm going to do with the St. Louis Blues.
They hold the top record in their division, but a lot of the underlying stats show that it may not be because of strong play. They rank 18th in the NHL in CORSI%, 17th in high danger scoring chances for, and 29th in high danger scoring chances against. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes rank first, second, and 21st in those statistics respectively.
It's going to be rare this season to be able to bet on the Hurricanes at a price of -135 or lower at home, so we should jump on it when we get the chances. Especially against a team whose record may be fraudulent.
Pick: Hurricanes -135
