As summer comes to a close, the PGA Tour season is about to wrap up.

We're on to the second round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The top 70 golfers in the standings will compete at this week's BMW Championship, with a chance to advance to next week's Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is the first time that Wilmington Country Club has hosted a professional golf event, which mean it's going to be extra difficult to predict the winning score.

I'm going to try my hand at it anyway, so let's dive into it.

BMW Championship Score Predictions

Winning Score: -16

We truly have no idea what to expect at Wilmington Country Club.

We do finally know that it will play as a Par 71 that will measure 7,534 yards long. Holes from both the North Course and the South Course will be used this week, but a majority of them will be from the South Course.

We also know that the fescue/Bluegrass rough will be deep and cause some issues for golfers who miss the fairway.

Based on the length and rough, I'll predict the winning score to be in the mid-teens on Sunday.

Rory McIlroy Score Prediction: -6

If Rory McIlroy drives the ball like he did last week, he's going to be searching through that deep rough quite often. He lost 1.03 true strokes off-the-tee last week, his worst performance all season by a wide margin. He hit 18% fewer fairways than the average golfer in the fairway.

I can't bank on him fixing that ahead of this week.

Jon Rahm Score Prediction: -10

Jon Rahm is trending in the right direction, but his short game still has issues. With reports of Wilmington having plenty of undulating greens, Rahm is going to struggle in this area once again.

Patrick Cantlay Score Prediction: -7

Patrick Cantlay finished T57 last week, and didn't thrive in any area of his golf game. Sure he won this event last year, but it was held at a completely different course. Don't let last year's results sway your decision making this year.

Justin Thomas Score Prediction: -13

Justin Thomas finished strong last week, but could only muster a T13 finish. He still lost strokes with his putter, but the rest of his game was on fire. If he can figure out his flat stick, he could end up being in contention on Sunday.

Matt Fitzpatrick Score Prediction: -14

Matt Fitzpatrick ranks first on Tour in total strokes gained this season, but he sometimes lacks the firepower to win these events. He finished T5 last week, and I expect a similar finish from him at the BMW Championship.

Scottie Scheffler Score Prediction: -1

Stay far away from Scottie Scheffler this week. The No. 1 ranked golfer in the world is on the verge of losing that title. His putting has been terrible since winning the Masters, and it was at its worst last week.

Tony Finau Score Prediction: -15

Tony Finau has having a lackluster season on Tour, but all of a sudden turned it on. After back-to-back wins, he finished T5 last week with a strong performance in every area. I wouldn't be shocked if he wins again this week.

Will Zalatoris Score Prediction: -16

Will Zalatoris is my top pick to win, so of course I think he's going to shoot 16-under par. He finally got the monkey off his back last week, and the sky seems to be the limit for him with his new caddie.

He has a strong chance to post back-to-back wins.

Collin Morikawa Score Prediction: -12

Collin Morikawa has had an up-and-down season. He has two missed cuts sandwiched in-between his T5 at the US Open and his T5 last week. Which version of him will show up this week? Only time will tell.

Xander Schauffele Score Prediction: -13

Xander Schauffele had an uncharacteristically bad ball striking performance last week, but I'll assume it was just an off week. I expect him to get back into contention this week.
