3 Bold Predictions for Nets-Celtics Game 5

The Nets look fantastic. Their Big 3 is hitting on all cylinders and Boston couldn’t protect home court, putting them down 3-1 in the series. If popular opinion is correct, the Brooklyn Nets will complete the gentlemen's sweep of the Boston Celtics and secure the franchise’s first playoff series win since 2014. 

Outside of Game 3, Brooklyn has controlled this series easily. WynnBET currently has the odds of a Nets win in Game 5 set at -900, an overwhelming favorite. Even though this game is projected to be out of reach by the end with the spread set at 12.5, the player props will bring an extra level of intrigue to the game.

Two Players Are Scoring 40 

Despite the downfall of the Celtics’ season, Jayson Tatum has proved one thing: He is a star. Tatum scored 50 in Game 3 and 40 in Game 4. His point total is set at 33.5 (with odds at -110 on both sides, which means Vegas is predicting a 50-50 chance he scores 34 or more). I feel is an easy play on the over. Tatum is the only consistent offensive option for Boston and, in an elimination game, I expect for him to leave everything on the floor and score over 40 points.

On the other side, the Nets have the most firepower of any team in the league. Right now, the player most on fire is Kevin Durant. He’s averaging 34.8 points per game this series with a 55/45/90 split. WynnBET set his point total at 30.5 points with the under (-120) a slight favorite to the over (-104). Evan Fournier Hits 4 or More Threes

The Nets have given up at least 125 points in the last two games, and defense doesn’t seem to be a priority for them. Fournier is getting all the opportunities he needs — 16 attempts from three in the last two games — and is knocking them down at a high clip. This game is set to be a track meet with a lot of points. Fournier will be a direct beneficiary.

Celtics Win

Right now, the Celtics biggest issue is scoring as many points as Brooklyn, but they have shown at least they belong on the court with the Nets. Tonight, WynnBET has the Celtics as a +650 underdog. However, with Tatum in a groove, Fournier finding his rhythm and Marcus Smart just being Marcus Smart, the Celtics could send this series back to Boston.
