Boston College vs. Louisville Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 8
By Matt De Saro
Boston College and Louisville square off this weekend in ACC Atlantic division action. Both teams are heading into Week 8 on two-game losing streaks and are in desperate need of a change of fortune this season.
The Cardinals are coming off losses to Virginia and Wake Forest and have just one win in the ACC this season. Louisville was on a three-game ATS win streak before losing by 1 to Virginia as 2.5 point favorites.
Boston College managed to start the year 4-0 but have since suffered back-to-back losses to Clemson and NC State. BC was also on a three-game ATS win streak before Week 7 after losing by 26 to NC State as three-point underdogs.
Let’s take a look at the betting trends and odds for this Week 8 ACC showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Boston College vs. Louisville Prediction
Louisville comes into this game with a much stronger offense than BC but with a defense that has struggled to stop even the most pedestrian of offenses. The Cardinals rank in the top-30 in both yards per game and points per game but outside of the Top-100 in the same categories on defense.
This does make BC a relatively attractive opponent as the Eagles have a more average offense that ranks 63rd in ppg and 89th in total yards. Their defense is in the top-50 of the nation but has a real strength on that side of the ball. Again, just average.
While BC’s defense is not a liability, they don’t have the athleticism to keep up with Louisville’s dual-threat offense. On the flip side, I also believe that the Eagles will have a hard time putting points on the board. The Cardinals have been prone to give up the big play but BC lacks a true playmaker, aside from Pat Garwo III perhaps, so I think Louisville avoids too many broken plays this weekend.
After last week’s awful performance by the Eagles against NC State, they will have to show me something before I can trust them with a bet. Take the home favorites at 6.0
Prediction: Louisville -6.0 (-110)
