ACC Rivals the Boston College Eagles and Syracuse Orange meet on Saturday at the Carrier Dome in Week 9 action. 

The Eagles are coming into this game suffering through a three-game losing streak with their latest loss coming at the hands of Louisville 28-14. After starting the year 4-0, the Eagles now sit a 4-3 and seventh in the ACC. They have yet to win a game in the conference. 

Syracuse enters Week 9 with a 4-4 record but just one win in conference play. That win came last week over Virginia Tech 41-36 in a game where the Orange showed off what their offense was capable of. The defense almost let them down, but, in the end, was able to hang on for the win.

The Eagles will be hungry to get their first ACC win of the season after getting beat by N.C. State, Clemson and the aforementioned Louisville Cardinals.

Boston College vs. Syracuse Prediction and Pick

After knocking off Virginia Tech in Week 8, the Syracuse Orange will have a lot of momentum at their backs heading into this game against BC. Furthermore, the Orange now have a legit shot at qualifying for a bowl game by winning two of their final four games.

The only real negative takeaway I have from that VT game was that Syracuse gave up 260 yards and three touchdowns on the ground off just 44 carries. If this team is looking towards a bowl game, that is a hole they have to fill quickly.  

The Eagles, despite coming out of the gate hot, now look like a team who is already looking ahead to next season. They are on a two-game ATS losing streak as well and have yet to cover a game this season as a single-digit underdog.

Syracuse, on the other hand, is on a six-game ATS win streak and is 7-1 ATS on the season. The only game they failed to cover was Week 2 against Rutgers, losing by 10 as 2.5-point underdogs. While each of those ATS wins came as an underdog except for one, I still like them to continue to play hard and cover in hopes of securing a bowl berth.
