Braves vs. Brewers prediction and odds for Sunday, July 23
By Reed Wallach
The Braves and Brewers finish a weekend series as each team looks to further its lead in respective divisions.
Atlanta is the best team in baseball, paced behind its potent lineup, and will hope to shutdown the Brewers lineup that rallied on Saturday to win 4-3. The team will hope back-end rotation arm Bryce Elder can find his form against Milwaukee that has struggled at the plate, but will that be the case?
Here are the odds and our best bet:

Braves vs. Brewers prediction and pick
I'm concerned about Elder's remainder of the season. While he has a 3.31 ERA, he has a Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) of 4.19 and has showcased limited control, walking nearly three batters per nine innings.
The Brewers lineup is below league average in several hitting metrics, but I'm going to side with both offenses and take the over on Sunday, mainly because of Milwaukee's starting pitcher, former Braves starter Julio Teheran.
Teheran was out of baseball for a year, but caught on with the Brewers big league club and is starting to slow down after a hot start. After not allowing more than a run in his first five starts, he has allowed 17 runs in his last three and will face the best lineup in baseball.
Atlanta is littered with talent, including runaway MVP favorite Ronald Acuna Jr and Austin Riley, who is hitting .344 with six home runs since the All-Star break. I see little issue for the Braves offense.
However, I can't trust Elder as a big favorite, even with the power supporting him at the plate. I'll take the over on Sunday.
