Braves vs. Dodgers Prediction and Odds for Wednesday, April 20 (Love LA to Stay Hot vs. Atlanta)
By Matt De Saro
The regular season rematch of last year's NLCS comes to a close Wednesday afternoon at Chavez Ravine when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Atlanta Braves at Dodger Stadium.
The Braves' offense is missing a beat in the early going. The absence of Ronald Acuña Jr. can’t be understated and they're also down three relief pitchers right now. Luke Jackson had Tommy John last week, so he’s out until the next Presidency. Plus, Spencer Schwellenbach and Brooks Wilson are day-to-day.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers have once again gotten off to a hot start; going neck-in-neck with the New York Mets for the top spots in both hitting and pitching in the National League; as well as the best records in baseball.
Can the Braves steal one on getaway day on the road? Or will the Dodgers be too much to handle?

Braves vs. Dodgers Prediction and Pick
Veteran righty Charlie Morton gets the nod for Atlanta and things have not been great so far. Morton enters this game with a 6.10 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in his first 10 ⅓ innings of play. He did manage to strike out 10, but he’s giving up way too many runs. Atlanta was hoping Morton could replicate his 2021 numbers of 3.34/1.04. So far those hopes are looking faint.
Tony Gonsolin starts for the Dodgers after two successful outings to start the season. Gonsolin has a 1.29 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in his first seven innings of work. His WHIP is a little sketchy, and his pitch count is concerning, but overall he is a far better option than Morton right now.
The Dodgers are out for blood against the rivals and I think present a good value to win and cover again versus Atlanta
Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (+140)
