I yelped in glee when I saw the schedule today. My favorite pitcher of all-time, Jacob deGrom, faces my favorite pitcher going, Spencer Strider?? Is it my birthday? Christmas? Just a random Sunday delivering my most-anticipated pitching matchup of 2022?

Oh, hot dog, baby! I'm so excited for this game I'm shaking.

deGrom impressed in his long-awaited return from injury, limiting the Nationals to three hits and one run over five innings while striking out six batters. He hasn't lost a step, still averaging 99.7 MPH on his fastball.

I see a lot of deGrom's influence when I was Strider, who strikes out 38.3% of the batters he faces. He's allowed one run or fewer in six of his last seven outings and struck out 13 Phillies in his last outing.

In this showdown of elite arms, who has the edge? Can Strider snatch the crown or will deGrom show the youngster he's still king?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook as we analyze this incredible Braves versus Mets matchup:

Braves vs Mets Prediction and Pick

Jacob deGrom is the best pitcher I've ever seen, but Spencer Strider is the next-best thing. It's a true treat to see them compete this afternoon, and I recommend literally gluing your eyes to the screen so you don't miss a moment.

I'm not exaggerating when I say Strider is putting together a historic rookie campaign. He's been that dominant, and his performances are only growing more extraordinary.

Other than a poor outing against the Nationals, Strider has a 1.03 ERA over his last six outings while striking out 57 batters. He's legitimately insane.

But deGrom is pretty stellar, himself. He's been untouchable at home for years, and now makes his 2022 Citi Field debut.

I can't contain my excitement for this matchup. With each starter looking like two of the best pitchers in the sport, I expect a low-scoring duel with deGrom and Strider trading knockout punches all day.

I'll take the first five innings under 3.5 (-115) as well as the full game under 6.5. Low-scoring contests are usually not as enjoyable, but watching these guys confuse batters constantly should be incredible entertainment.

Pick: First Five Innings Under 3.5 (-115) and Under 6.5 (+110)
