Braves vs. Nationals Prediction and Odds for Thursday, July 14 (Atlanta Gets Back on Track vs. Washington)
By Reed Wallach
The Braves came up short against the NL East leading Mets in their early week three-game set, but nobody fear, the Washington Nationals are here.
The Braves travel to D.C. to take on the struggling Nationals and pad their record up once again against their last place foes.
Kyle Wright draws the start in this series opener and faces Anibal Sanchez as he makes his first start of the season.
Odds for this one are from consensus sportsbooks:
Braves vs. Nationals Odds, Run Line, Total
Run Line:
- Braves: -1.5 (-135)
- Nationals: +1.5 (+115)
Moneyline:
- Braves: -225
- Nationals: +185
Total:
- 9.5 (Over +100/Under -120)
Braves vs. Nationals Prediction and Pick
Sanchez sat out all 2021 and a spring training injury to his neck kept him out of the first three-plus months of the season. Now, he is stuck facing one of the hottest teams in baseball in the Braves while pitching for one of the worst in baseball.
On the other side, Wright is starting to regress after a stellar start to the season. He has an ERA at 3.99 over his last four starts, which is more than a run higher than his season long marks.
I do like the Braves to get back on track after losing some ground to the Mets, but can't lay this number, instead I'll back the over in this game with Wright coming back down to Earth and Sanchez in a brutal spot of making his season debut against Atlanta.
LEAN: OVER 9.5 (+100)
