The Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals wrap up a three-game series tonight at 7:05 p.m. EST as the Braves hope to stay flaming hot in the month of June.

Spencer Strider will make his fourth career start for Atlanta after throwing 5.2 shutout innings against the Pirates last week. He has a 2-2 record and 2.35 ERA on the season, though has recently transitioned from a reliever to starter to mitigate the Braves' injuries in their rotation.

Washington will counter with Erick Fedde, who has a 4-4 record and 4.82 ERA. Fedde has really struggled of late, amassing a 10.45 ERA over his last three outings and hopes to get back on track against one of the best lineups in MLB.

Can Fedde pull it off? Or will Strider earn back-to-back wins as a starter as Atlanta continues its dominant month?

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help answer those questions ahead of this Braves vs Nationals series finale:

Braves vs Nationals Prediction and Pick

After Kyle Wright burst onto the scene with a stellar start to his 2022 campaign, the Braves may have stumbled onto another excellent starting pitching prospect in Spencer Strider. After opening the year in the bullpen with strong numbers, Strider has returned to the rotation with spectacular results.

Opponents are hitting just .184 against his fastball, but it's his slider that really has my attention:

Where's the soap at because that pitch is FILTHY. It's no wonder opponents have a .150 expected batting average and miss over half of their swings against it. Strider has utilized that devastating slider well this season, and his MLB Statcast pitching profile paints the picture of a potentially dominant starter:

Strider needs to clean up his walks a bit, but otherwise you can't ask for much more out of a 23-year-old former fourth-round pick. He's striking out 13.38 hitters per nine innings, a mark that would lead MLB if he had enough innings to qualify.

Perhaps Nationals' starter Erick Fedde can learn something from the youngster, as Fedde's only has five strikeouts combined in his last three outings. He's issued six walks in that span, so Washington better hope Fedde figures it out quickly or this could turn into another blowout.

As a betting man, I'd wager on the blowout. The Braves have the second-highest OPS in the league over the last three weeks and have made a habit of making pitchers pay for their mistakes.

I'm not stepping in front of a speeding train, especially not one that has a conductor who can throw sliders that make me fall out of my chair. Strider looks like the real deal, while Fedde may need to make a deal with the devil to get his mojo back. Maybe the LIV Tour is looking for a pitcher.

Pick: Braves -1.5 (+100)
