Braves vs. Phillies Prediction and Odds for Wednesday, June 29 (Back the Over)
By Reed Wallach
Two NL East continue their four game series in Philadelphia.
The Atlanta Braves continue to inch closer to the New York Mets for first place in the NL East while the Philadelphia Phillies try to navigate the Bryce Harper injury. Harper is set to miss about six weeks with a broken thumb.
Here are the odds for Braves vs. Phillies on Wednesday night with Atlanta starting Kyle Wright against the Phillies Ranger Suarez:
Braves vs. Phillies Odds, Run Line, Total
Run Line:
- Braves: -1.5 (+120)
- Phillies: +1.5 (-145)
Moneyline:
- Braves: -128
- Phillies: +118
Total: 9 (Over -110/Under -110)
Braves vs. Phillies Prediction and Pick
There may be some concern about the Phillies lineup moving forward with Harper on the shelf, but I'm more worried about Wright on the mound for Atlanta.
After a strong start to the season, Wright has allowed nine runs on 21 hits in the last 11.1 innings across two starts. The Braves righty has seemingly come back down to Earth and now will face a Phillies team that is still middle of the pack in slugging percentage over the last two weeks.
I would lean towards the Phils as home underdogs, but Ranger Suarez gives me pause. He has an ERA of 5.10 at home this season, much higher than his 3.61 road ERA. The Braves offense is scorching at the plate and is seventh in batting average against lefties. I expect Atlanta to find success at the plate to offset Wright's recent form.
Give me the over with two big question marks on the mound.
LEAN: OVER 9
