Eddie Rosario, Braves Walk Off Dodgers to Take 2-0 Lead in the NLCS
By Ben Heisler
The fifth walk off of the MLB postseason has now happened in back-to-back nights for the Atlanta Braves.
After Austin Riley delivered the game-winner in Game 1 off Blake Treinen, Eddie Rosario stepped up to the plate and smoked a Kenley Jansen pitch up the middle to score Dansby Swanson from second base.
Atlanta entered the game as underdogs both for Game 2 as well as in the series. Despite the Game 1 win, the Braves were +135 to win the series at WynnBET, with the Dodgers entering at -145. For Game 2, L.A was -165 favorites with their ace, Max Scherzer on the mound. Atlanta came in as +152 underdogs with Ian Anderson making his second start of the postseason.
The Dodgers took two separate two-run leads multiple times in the game in the 1st inning and again in the 7th on a Chris Taylor two-run double, but the Braves responded both times with two-run innings of their own.
They got to Scherzer in the 4th thanks to a two-run home run from Joc Pederson. In the 8th inning, Ozzie Albies drove in the eventual game-winning hero Eddie Rosario with a base hit, and then Riley, the hero from Game 1 did it again as Albies came around to score.
Game 3 of the NLCS is scheduled for 5:07 pm local time (PT) on TBS from Dodger Stadium this Tuesday. Charlie Morton of the Braves will match up against fellow right-hander Walker Buehler.
No odds have been listed at the moment at WynnBET, but once they're available, we'll have them up at BetSided's MLB page.
