Manchester City and Brentford play their final Premier League game of 2021 on Wednesday. Both teams are log to end the year on a high note but Brentford might be in for a spot of disappointment with a red-hot team on the other side of the pitch.

The Sky Blues are on a nine-game winning streak in the EPL and have a massive six-point lead atop the table. Their offense has scored a ming boggling 17 goals in their last three games including a 7-0 shutout of Leeds United. Their most recent game was a 6-3 victory over Leicester City. 

Meanwhile, the Bees are far down the standings at 13th with just 20 points in their last 17 games. They are coming off a 2-0 loss to Brighton and are going to have a tough time just putting up a fight on Wednesday.

Brentford was a surprisingly good team to start the season but have since stumbled more than once and now find themselves way down the table. It isn’t that they have been playing that badly overall, it is their inconsistent play that has been their downfall. 

Another issue for the Bees heading into Wednesday is the injuries to Kristoffer Ajer and David Raya. Rico Henry and Bryan Mbeumo are also possibilities to miss this match. Each is a significant loss but if the whole lot of them are out, this will be a long game for Brentford. 

The oddsmakers are pretty confident in Man City with their -600 odds to win outright. This leaves no value for the moneyline. However, I think that with Man City playing at such a high level right now, the OVER 3.5 line of +120 is very attractive. As I mentioned above, the Sky Blues have 17 goals in their last three games combined and I like them to continue beating down lesser teams in this match.
