The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres last night 8-3, with the Dodgers exhibiting their power by hitting five home runs, shortstop Corey Seager hitting two solo shots.

The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the high-flying St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3, failing to hold onto their early lead.

The Dodgers will host the Brewers at Dodgers Stadium tonight, and both teams will send a left-hander to the mound.

Eric Lauer (7-5, 2.93 ERA) will start for Milwaukee. Lauer has posted an ERA of just 2.01 in his last seven starts (40 ⅓ innings) and found success against Los Angeles in his first start of the season on Apr. 29th, pitching five scoreless innings against the Dodgers and allowing four hits and two walks while striking out three.

Future Hall-of-Famer Clayton Kershaw (10-8, 3.38) will toe the rubber for Los Angeles. Kershaw will look to rebound after struggling against the lowly Arizona Diamondbacks in his last outing, allowing six hits and three earned runs in 4 ⅓ innings of work.

Brewers vs. Dodgers Prediction

Milwaukee has not been the best offensive team this season, and have failed to put up runs lately, scoring just 53 runs since Sept. 15th. Going against a pitcher like Kershaw that knows how to limit mistakes is not a good sign tonight for the Brew Crew.

Also, Milwaukee has batted just .208 as a team since in September 15th --according to Fangraphs.com-- which is fourth in all of baseball. Yes, even worse than the Pittsburgh Pirates (.225).

The Brewers’ bats have gone cold at the wrong time.

I’m taking Los Angeles on the run line at -1.5 (-110).
