Brewers vs. Pirates Prediction and Odds
The Brewers seem to have found their mojo again, while the Pirates are trying to get themselves out of a rut. I’m not sure if Pittsburgh will be able to capitalize on Adrian Houser pitching and get the win, but I have faith the Pirates can keep it close.
Part of the reason I think that is because of JT Brubaker. He’s been a consistent pitcher over the last month or so, and hasn’t given up a ton of runs. He hasn’t given up more than three runs in a start in four of his last five starts. Also, he’s done a good job of keeping the ball in play. Outside of a three-homer day at the start of June, Brubaker has only given up three home runs in his last nine starts.
If Brubaker can keep the ball inside the park and continue to keep the game manageable, I don’t see Houser pitching well enough to allow the Brewers to pull away.
Lean: Pirates +1.5 (-150)
