Formula 1 heads to the Silverstone Circuit for this weekend’s British Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton will be competing in his home country in what is one of the most important races in his career. He’s fallen behind Max Verstappen in the Drivers Championship standings, and WynnBET now has him set as a +300 underdog to win his record-breaking championship. A win at Sunday’s British Grand Prix would go a long way in closing the gap on Verstappen, who is the -500 favorite at WynnBET to win his first Drivers Championship.

Hamilton has dominated the British Grand Prix in his career. He holds the record for the most wins at the circuit with seven, including winning six of the last seven dating back to 2014. He won the race last season, beating Verstappen by 5.856 seconds.

If there’s any race on the schedule that Hamilton can use to regain momentum, the British Grand Prix is it.

Despite his historic success at the race, WynnBET has Hamilton set as the +185 underdog to win with Verstappen set as the -120 favorite. Valtteri Bottas (+1000), Sergio Perez (+1100) and Charles Leclerc (+2500) round out the top five drivers on the odds list.

Leclerc was the third place finisher in last year’s edition of the event, and betting on him to have a podium finish at +700 might be the best value on the board for the race.

Hamilton has three wins this season and six podium finishes, compared to Verstappen who has five wins and eight podium finishes. Hamilton has been the victim of bad luck and poor decisions, including at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix when he had the lead heading into one of the final corners, but accidently flicked a switch that shut off his brakes which made him drop down to 15th in the race.

If Hamilton and Mercedes can put a stop to the needless mistakes, he’s a great bet to capture his eighth win at this weekend’s British Grand Prix.
