Broncos vs. Cowboys Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for NFL Week 9
By Matt De Saro
The Denver Broncos are coming off a win heading into AT&T Stadium to face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9. The Cowboys were also victorious last week but neither win was all that decisive.
The Cowboys were able to secure a win against the Vikings 20-16 on Sunday but never looked like they were in complete control. They get a pass for this close win due to the fact that Dak Prescott didn’t play and was replaced by Cooper Rush. In his lone start of the season, Rush actually looked quite good. He completed 24 of 40 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns. While the news is trending towards Prescott starting, it is good to know that Dallas has a serviceable backup if he cant.
Denver was able to snap their losing streak yesterday against the Washington Football Team 17-10. The game looks like it was a defensive battle, but, the truth is that the Broncos’ offense put together strong drives only to stall out in the red zone. This game could have been a decisive victory but the Broncos were in their own way all game.
The Broncos opened as seven-point underdogs, but the line was quickly bet up to 9.5.

Broncos vs. Cowboys Prediction and Pick
I am not usually one to blame coaches for the poor performance of their players, but, I think that Vic Fangio and Pat Schumer need to get together and figure out this offense.
By that, I mean that Fangio needs to take the reigns if he hopes to steer this team to the playoffs. Things were looking good early on but the Broncos lost four in a row after starting 3-0.
True, those games were against bad teams, but a win is a win. The Broncos should have won handily yesterday, instead, they barely beat Washington. The play calling had a lot to do with that and things need to change in Denver. Fangio himself said that the last offensive series was pitiful and when asked to describe it, respond by saying “whatever the worst word you can use to describe it, you can use to describe it.” This, and their collapse after Week 3 have me very wary of betting on the Broncos.
Betting against the Broncos? Well, that is something I can get behind. The Cowboys showed that they are capable of winning without Prescott. I think that Rush is a downgrade to be clear, but his performance against the Vikings was very promising. If Rush starts again, I think that Dallas has a good shot to cover this nearly double-digit spread. If Prescott starts, I think this game could be a bloodbath if Denver can’t get their stuff together on offense and make better play calls.
PICK: Dallas Cowboys -9.5 (-110)
