The AFC West has not lived up to expectations early in the 2022 season, but it is guaranteed to have one team win in Week 4, as the Las Vegas Raiders (0-3) host the Denver Broncos (1-2) at 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday.

Las Vegas has been arguably the most disappointing team in the NFL this season, blowing a 20-point lead against the Arizona Cardinals and coming into this game as the only winless team in the league.

Meanwhile, the Broncos’ offense has been stuck in mud this season, scoring just 11 points against the San Francisco 49ers and 43 overall this season. Yet, the Broncos have played well enough defensively to be 2-1.

Josh McDaniels and Nathaniel Hackett are both in their first seasons with their respective teams, but McDaniels had his first head coaching gig in Denver, way back in the Tim Tebow days.

Do the Broncos send the Raiders to an 0-4 start? Or does Denver’s offensive struggles finally catch up and give the Raiders a win?

Here are the odds for this Week 4 matchup:

Broncos vs. Raiders Odds, Spread and Total

Raiders vs. Broncos Betting Trends

There is a very interesting betting trend in the Raiders’ favor heading into this matchup in Week 4:

  • The Raiders are 0-3 against the spread this season.
  • The Broncos are 1-2 against the spread this season.
  • The UNDER is 3-0 in Denver’s games this season
  • The OVER is 1-1-1 in Vegas’ three games this season.
  • Josh McDaniels is 13-18 ATS as a head coach in the NFL.

Broncos vs. Raiders Prediction and Pick

There’s a very real chance that Denver has the best defense in the NFL, ranking second in points allowed, third in total yards allowed and sixth in opponent yards per play.

The impressive part is Denver has done most of this without All-Pro safety Justin Simmons, which could make the team even more dangerous down the stretch of the 2022 season.

Still, the Broncos’ offense has scored the second fewest points in the league, almost negating the great play of the defense. Does this remind you of another Broncos season? Maybe… 2015?

I digress.

The Raiders haven’t been able to get out of their own way so far this season, watching turnovers (five in three games) cost them in multiple games.

I do believe Vegas deserves to be favored at home since its offense has been so much better than Denver’s, but at the end of the day I see this as a low-scoring division battle. Unless Russell Wilson figures things out, the Broncos are likely going to slog their way into the teens, but rely on their defense to keep this close.

Give me the UNDER in Week 4.
