A big matchup between two 3-1 teams in the AFC is set to go down in Week 5 as the Los Angeles Chargers host the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns enter the game coming off a 14-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4, and their defense has allowed a combined 13 points in their last two outings. Meanwhile, the Chargers are coming into the game coming off a big Monday Night Football win over their division rival, the Las Vegas Raiders.

Both teams need the win in order to try to create some level of separation within their divisions. The AFC North as well as the AFC West have three teams tied at the top at 3-1. Surprisingly, its the Steelers and Chiefs who both hold the bottom spot in their respective divisions.

Browns vs Chargers Prediction and Picks

Styles make fights, and before you place your bet on this game you should take a look at how these two teams match up with each other stylistically.

45.47% of the offensive yards gained by the Browns come on the ground, that’s the third highest rate in the NFL. Now they take on a Chargers defense that ranks 30th in opponent yards per carry, allowing teams to average 5.3 yards per rush against them. That’s not a good recipe for success when facing this Browns squad.

As a whole, Cleveland’s defense has been among the best in the league this year. They rank second in opponent yards per play at 4.5, which is significantly better than the Chargers who rank 14th at 5.5 in this statistic.

Oddsmakers still aren’t giving the Browns the respect they deserve, I’ll back them at anything under a field goal in this game. Give me the Browns -1.
