If this were the Browns and Jaguars of last year, the Browns would’ve been heavy favorites heading into Saturday’s preseason game. However, Vegas sees the Jaguars as a team with now life. The Jaguars are favored heading into their preseason opener against Cleveland. With Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer now involved in the process, Jacksonville has some trust from the oddsmakers.

Once the regular season rolls around, the Browns should be one of the better teams in the league, but the Jaguars are the star of the show right now.

These two teams played last season, with the Browns winning 27-25. This game is set to go in a much different way for multiple reasons, but the odds are now in the Jaguars' favor.

Here are the odds for their matchup on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. EST via WynnBET.

Browns vs. Jaguars Spread, Odds and Over/Under

Spread:

Browns: +1.5 (-110)

Jaguars: -1.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

Browns: +110

Jaguars: -130

Over/Under: 37.0 (Over: -110/Under: -110)

Browns vs. Jaguars Betting Trends

Since the 2020 preseason was cancelled due to COVID-19, this is the first data point for either coach in the preseason. The Browns are getting back Odell Beckham Jr., which will be a plus. However, Cleveland will also be without Baker Mayfield, which is an unusual sight. Mayfield has started 45 of a possible 48 games in his career.

Browns vs. Jaguars Prediction and Pick

The Jaguars are getting my vote of confidence on Saturday night. Lawrence has been one of the most highly touted prospects in recent years and I believe that he will be successful against the Browns. Jacksonville has a lot of young, new weapons that will benefit from preseason snaps.

Cleveland has hopes of a long playoff run, so the preseason should be more about getting everyone to the regular season healthy.

If the Jaguars can keep their foot on the gas longer than the Browns, they will be in a good place at home with a good chance to start the Urban Meyer era off with a win.
