Deshaun Watson is making his return from suspension to finally play for the Cleveland Browns against his former team, the Houston Texans, in Week 13.

Jacoby Brissett kept the Browns afloat and in the playoff hunt at 4-7 after an overtime win against Tampa Bay on Sunday. They have their work cut out for them, but the postseason is still within reach.

Houston has no shot at the playoffs at 1-9-1, but the Texans have everything to play for in this game, facing their former quarterback.

This will be interesting, let’s get to the odds.

Browns vs. Texans Odds, Spread and Total

Houston and Cleveland Betting Trends

  • Cleveland is 5-6 ATS
  • The Over is 7-3-1 in Cleveland’s games
  • Cleveland is 1-7 ATS following last 8 wins
  • Cleveland is 0-5 ATS in last five meetings in Houston

Browns vs. Texans Prediction and Pick

Watson hasn’t played a regular season NFL football game since January 3rd 2021. That is a really long time and there has to be an adjustment period that will span at least most of this first game and honestly might span the rest of the season.

We’ve seen how poorly elite NFL quarterbacks have played in Week 1 after not playing in the preseason. Joe Burrow threw four interceptions against the Steelers and wasn’t the only guy to struggle. This will be an extremely exaggerated version of that phenomenon.

Also, Houston is going to play so hard to try and beat him. It’s not quite the same as when Seattle played against Wilson, because it’s clearly documented that Wilson was not well liked in the locker room and nearly all of those guys had played with him the year before. Houston has a new head coach and a ton of new players who probably don’t know Watson at all, but there will still be motivation.

Let’s be honest, we can’t back Watson or the Browns at all, but I do think Houston will get up for the game, play hard, and win outright.

Pick: Texans +260
