The Cleveland Browns improved to 2-1 on the season after defeating the Chicago Bears in Week 3. The Browns defense stepped up big, allowing an amazingly low 47 total yards of offense and sacking rookie quarterback Justin Fields nine times; defensive end Myles Garrett picking up 4.5 sacks.

Odell Beckham Jr. made his return to the Cleveland offense, catching five passes for 77 receiving yards, but it also felt like a return for running back Kareem Hunt after his quiet start. Hunt had 10 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and caught six passes for 74 yards through the air.

The Minnesota Vikings had a three point loss in Week 1, a one-point loss in Week 2, then picked up their first win of the season in Week 3, beating the Seattle Seahawks 30-17.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins had a great game against the Seahawks, completing 30 of 38 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Alexander Mattison did a great job filling Dalvin Cook’s absence in the backfield, running for 112 yards on 26 carries and picking up six catches for 59 yards in the passing game.

Browns vs. Vikings Prediction

With players like defensive end Myles Garrett, cornerback Denzel Ward, and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney among others, this Cleveland defense is starting to form into one of the most intimidating defenses in the NFL.

The Browns have allowed just 210.7 passing yards per game (sixth in the NFL), 67 rushing yards per game (fifth in the NFL), and 20 points per game (eighth in the NFL), while the Vikings are 20th or worse in all three categories.

Cousins had a nice game last week against Seattle’s soft defense, but he will have his hands full when Cleveland comes to Minnesota.

I’ll take the Browns on the spread at -1.5.
