Buccaneers vs. Saints Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for NFL Week 8
By Matt De Saro
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading out to New Orleans to square off against the Saints in a massive divisional matchup in Week 8.
The Bucs are riding high after blowing out the Bears 38-3 last week to extend their winning streak to four games. Tampa Bay is 2-2 ATS during that stretch, covering both games as double-digit favorites but failed to do the same when favored by single digits. In fact, the Bucs haven’t covered a spread yet this year as single-digit favorites going 0-4 in that category. The spread in this game opened at 4.5 in favor of Tampa Bay.
Here are the odds as they currently are for this Week 8 NFC South rivalry game, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Buccaneers vs. Saints Prediction and Pick
This game will be won or lost by the Buccaneers defense. While Tom Brady is busy breaking records and singlehandedly reviving Antonio Brown’s career, the real story is how well the defense has been playing. This is especially true in terms of stopping runs. Opponents average only 3.7 yards per play on the ground and lead the league in opponent rushing yards per game at 67.4.
Their passing defense is merely average but their league-leading passing attack has more than made up for that. The Bucs average 324.3 yards per passing game and 44.1 passes.
On the other side of things, the Saints also feature a top-ranked defense so far this year. NO is allowing opponents to score only 18.2 points per game and they lead the league in denying red zone touchdowns.
The thing that scares me about the Sants on a weekly basis is the inconsistency under center. It was the same reason I was wary of betting the Bucs before they brought in Tom Brady. That reason is Jameis Winston. Will he throw for 279 yards and three touchdowns like he did in Week 6 against the Washington Football Team, or will he have a 111-yard two-interception game like Week 2 against the Panthers? Impossible to say. Which, in turn, makes them impossible to trust according to my standards of picking teams ATS.
Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -4.5 (-110)
