While we saw Brock Purdy step in for the injured Jimmy Garrapollo and lead the 49ers to a win, he’ll go up against one of the best defenses in the NFL this week. Over the last eight games, the Bucs have only allowed more than 23 points once. They are a dominant unit and will be able to truly put Purdy’s abilities to the test.
Although San Francisco has a great ATS record at home, that was with its first and second-string quarterbacks. The 49ers are going to rely heavily on their running game to keep Purdy comfortable.
I don’t expect a lot of points in this one, so anything over a field goal is good value to me. We just saw Tom Brady lead the Buccaneers on a last-second win, showing he can still be clutch when needed.
Each of the Buccaneers’ last five games have been decided by one score. At the very least, Tampa Bay will keep it close – which is what it will do this week.
