Thursday Night Football is headed to Philadelphia in Week 6 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visiting the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Buccaneers destroyed the Miami Dolphins in Week 5. Tampa Bay’s quarterback Tom Brady continued his dominance by completing 30 of 41 passes for 411 yards and five touchdowns in the 45-17 rout over Miami.

Brady currently leads the NFL in passing yards with 1,767 and is second in touchdown passes with 15 (Patrick Mahomes of Kansas City with 16).

The Eagles picked up a solid rebound win last week over the Carolina Panthers. Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts scored two rushing touchdowns in the Eagles narrow 21-18 victory.

Philadelphia’s defense stepped up big in the win, forcing Panthers’ quarterback Sam Darnold to throw three interceptions.

Buccaneers vs. Eagles Prediction and Pick

Tom Brady has looked more like a 24-year old than a 44-year old, picking apart defenses across the league. But Brady may be asked to do less on a short week against Philadelphia's 30th-ranked rushing defense that is allowing 142 rushing yards per game.

The Eagles allowed Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys to run for 95 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3, Clyde Edwards-Helaire of the Kansas City Chiefs to run for 102 yards in Week 4, and Chuba Hubbard of the Panthers to run for 101 yards last week.

I would expect this trend to continue on Thursday Night, as Bucs’ running back Leonard Fournette should carry the load on offense and take pressure off Brady on a short week.

Tampa Bay’s defense has allowed just 45.8 rushing yards per game (first in the NFL), and I don’t think the Eagles’ offense can operate well if they’re forced to throw too often.

I’ll take the Buccaneers on the spread at -7, but you could wait and see if the spread moves away from a touchdown before making a decision.
