Bucks vs. Hawks Prediction and Odds: Atlanta has just one ATS win in 2022
By Matt De Saro
The defending NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, hit the road tonight to face off against the Atlanta Hawks. The game is a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals series and the Hawks would love to snag a revenge win here. They have a shot as the Bucks are not having the dominant season they did last year. They are fourth in the East with a 27-18 record and have split their last 10 games and are 2-5 in their last seven.
The Hawks, meanwhile, are riding a five-game losing streak after getting beat at home by the New York Knicks in their last game. Atlanta has a 17-25 overall record and is currently out of playoff contention in 12th place. Can the Bucks capitalize on this struggling team and try to gain some ground on the Chicago Bulls? Or will the Hawks snap their losing streak and grab an underdog win at home?

Bucks vs. Hawks Prediction and Pick
Despite the Bucks struggle of late, Giannis Antetokounmpo has continued to produce at an MVP level. He is averaging 32.2 points per game since New Year’s with 10.9 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game. If the rest of the team can pick up the pace, the Bucks will be a very dangerous team in the second half of the season. The Bucks currently rank 12th in the NBA in adjusted offensive rating and eight in adjusted defense.
Meanwhile, the Hawks’ struggles have been persistent all season and they appear to be in a tailspin. They had a good chance to snap their losing streak against the Knicks but couldn’t get it done. Trae Young did his best to lead his team to a win with 29 points. However, the Hawks were down 14 at the half and never really recovered. Young had one of his better games of late and is shooting a career-high of 36.5 percent from deep. The Hawks actually have the third-best adjusted offensive rating but their defense is 28th.
The Hawks continue to lose and it is becoming clear that they need more help than Young can provide on his own. The Hawks have failed to cover once during their five-game losing streak and are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games. As underdogs, Atlanta is 5-12 ATS on the season.
This is a good chance for some of the Bucks’ role players to find their groove and help lead this team to a win and cover on the road.
Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -5.5 (-110)
