MACtion, the midweek football tradition that the Mid American Conference dominates each November, returns to our televisions starting on Tuesday with a double header of contending teams.

Buffalo has ripped off five straight wins, including a win against conference favorite Toledo in its last game to give themselves pole position in the MAC East. The Bulls travel to Ohio to take on Kurtis Rourke and the Bobcats, who are one game off the pace and have one of the best offenses in the conference.

Who has the edge on Tuesday? Here are the odds for MACtion.

Buffalo vs. Ohio Odds, Spread and Total

Buffalo vs. Ohio Betting Trends

  • Buffalo is 6-1-1 against the spread (ATS) this season
  • Ohio is 5-3 ATS this season
  • Buffalo is 1-3 to the OVER this season as favorites
  • Ohio has gone OVER in three of four home games this season

Buffalo vs. Ohio Prediction and Pick

Buffalo has been running a bit lucky the last several weeks, generating six turnovers to upset Toledo at home ahead of its bye week. The team has faced two backup MAC quarterbacks as well during its four game heater so I believe it is a bit overvalued in the market.

It will face arguably the best MAC quarterback this season in Kurtis Rourke, who has been gashing defenses this season with a 16:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Rourke has made up for a bottom 10 Ohio defense in terms of yards per play.

This game should have points in bunches but I believe that the Bobcats are undervalued at home. The Buffalo defense isn't much better than Ohio, 110th in yards per play allowed, and have gotten by with some help in the turnover department. Despite allowing more than six yards per play, the Bobcats are inside the top 40 nationally in points per drive allowed. Teams move the ball on them but have been stumbling over themselves in scoring situations.

Rourke is going to keep this team afloat as he has all year and cash as a home underdog. It may be last team with the ball wins, but give me the Bobcats as home underdogs in the MACtion opener.
