The Bulls are back! After nearly a decade of mediocre seasons, the Chicago Bulls have finally turned a corner. The Bulls are 9-4 and first in the Central Division heading into their third game in a row in California.

Friday night, the Bulls lost 119-93 against the Warriors but followed that game up with a 100-90 win against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Tonight, the Bulls head back to the Staples Center but will be facing the Los Angeles Lakers this time around. L.A. is also on the second half of a back-to-back after beating the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night.

It was a good bounce-back win after the Lakers were downright embarrassed 107-83 by the Timberwolves. Can the 8-6 Lakers keep their momentum going or will the Bulls extend their lead in the Central Division?

Bulls vs. Lakers Prediction and Pick

Both teams are on short rest but the Bulls game last night ran late so the Lakers had a bit better night’s sleep. The Lakers have also covered three of their last four games and are usually a strong bet at home.

One roster note, tonight marks the supposed return of Coby White for the Bulls. The third-year guard has sat all season thus far after recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. White averaged 15 points, four rebounds and four assists last season and will be a boon for this team off the bench moving forward.

One thing neither of these two teams does particularly well is play lockdown defense. Additionally, the Bulls will be without Nikola Vucevic who is out after testing positive for COVID-19. The loss will make the Bulls’ struggles inside even worse without his presence on the court.

I think with the Bulls in the middle of a tough road trip, coming off a late game on Sunday night and without Vucevic will be hard to overcome. These two teams are very evenly matched but we won’t see the best version of the Bulls tonight and I think they fall to the Lakers in a very close game.
