Deshaun Watson has decided that he won’t be taking his talents to Northeast Ohio.

Watson, who’s taken meetings with different teams over the last several days, notified the Cleveland Browns that he won’t waive his no-trade clause to join their team.

He’s already ruled out the possibility of going to the Seattle Seahawks as well, which leaves the Carolina Panthers and the New Orleans Saints as the top two contenders to land him. Watson had a second meeting with New Orleans late Wednesday night, according to Saints reporter Nick Underhill.

The Panthers have been mentioned as one of the top teams to land Watson throughout this entire process, yet they seem to be falling behind.

With the Saints looking like the favorite to land Watson, now would be the time to buy low on the Saints’ Super Bowl odds. WynnBET currently has the Saints’ odds to win it all at +4000. If New Orleans lands a 26-year old Pro Bowl quarterback, the Saints are bound to shoot up the odds standings.

In 2020, Watson threw for over 4,800 yards, 33 touchdowns and just 7 interceptions. He’s a clear upgrade over Jameis Winston, Trevor Siemian and Ian Book – who collectively led the Saints to a 9-8 record. Watson’s presence puts New Orleans in a position to compete in a wide open NFC and in one of the weaker divisions in the league.

The NFC South will still go to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady is back in the mix and will instantly raise the Bucs ceiling, even if some of the pieces from the 2020 Super Bowl team have now moved on.

We’ve already seen the Broncos, Buccaneers and Packers odds rise after securing a quarterback for this season. If Watson ends up in the Big Easy, the value could dissipate instantly.
