A nightmare season continues to get worse for the Montreal Canadiens. Just one season after being Stanley Cup runner-ups, the Habs organization has fallen off a cliff. They now sit in second last place in the NHL, only one point ahead of the lowly Arizona Coyotes.

Things aren't going to get any easier for them tonight when they hit the road to take on the Boston Bruins, who are 7-3 in their last 10 games and will enter tonight on a two-game win streak. The Bruins got the better of the Habs in their first meeting this season, beating them by a final score of 5-2.

Any time there's a lopsided matchup, it can become difficult to find where the betting value is. For tonight's game, I'm going to look at the total for the best value and I'll lean towards the UNDER 6.

The Canadiens statistics aren't quite as bad as their record may indicate, but they're having major issues putting the puck in the net. They rank dead last in the NHL in shooting percentage, finding the back of the net on just 7.19 percent of shot attempts.

The Bruins also rank among the worst in the league in that stat this season, sitting in 25th in shooting percentage. Meanwhile, the Bruins are the best defensive team in the NHL, allowing only 9.13 high danger scoring chances per 60 minutes, which is the best mark in the league.

For those reasons, I'd lean towards the UNDER tonight.
