I've gone on record that I think the Golden Knights are one of the most overrated teams in the NHL this season, but there's no way I can make myself bet on the Canadiens tonight given how much of a dumpster fire their organization has become.
For that reason, I'm going to look at the total instead and take the OVER 6.
Both teams tonight rank among the worst in the NHL in defensive play. Montreal ranks 29th and Vegas ranks 30th in opponent high danger scoring chances per 60 minutes. The Canadiens are also 31st in expected goals against at 3.19.
To be fair, I can't say that the Canadiens are exactly a hot team offensively, but the Golden Knights certainly are, ranking sixth in expected goals for. Montreal may only need to contribute a goal or two tonight for the OVER 6 to hit.
