Canadiens vs. Maple Leafs Prediction: Another Chapter Begins in Hockey's Oldest Rivalry
It’s time to strap myself in for another season of Toronto Maple Leafs hockey.
The Leafs were my first ever love, and they’ve broken my heart more than any girl ever could. I predicted their first round demise last season, but yet here I am, ready to get hurt once again.
They’ll pick up right where they left off, with a game against the Montreal Canadiens. While a win certainly won’t make up for the last season's postseason disaster it may help them (and us as fans) move on from that and start to truly get into the mindset of the 2021-22 campaign.
Opening night delivered, as the Pittsburgh Penguins upset the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Vegas Golden Knights downed the newcomers to the league, the Seattle Kraken.
With a full slate of games set for tonight, many eyes will be on this All-Canadian showdown. The expectations are high for the Maple Leafs already, as they’re fourth on the odds list to win the Stanley Cup.
Let's take a look at the odds for tonight's game courtesy of WynnBET.

Canadiens vs. Maple Leafs Prediction and Pick
As much as I love my Maple Leafs, they are continuously one of the most overvalued teams in the betting market in my opinion. Because of that, I hardly ever find myself betting on them and tonight is no different.
The Canadiens play a strong, defensive style of hockey which can cause issues for teams, like the Leafs, who rely on their offensive output to win games. Montreal shut the Toronto offense down in the postseason last year, and then capitalized on the opportunities that the Maple Leafs gave them. At +155, you’d be foolish not to bet on seeing more of the same tonight.
Pick: Canadiens +155
