Capitals vs. Maple Leafs Prediction and Odds (Raining Goals in Toronto)
By Matt De Saro
Two Eastern Conference rivals do battle at the Scotiabank Arena tonight when the Washington Capitals travel to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
While the Toronto Maple Leafs have already secured a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Caps are still fighting to earn their berth. Washington remains the fourth-best team in the Metropolitan Division, trailing the Penguins by three points.
If the season ended today, the Caps would be out of contention. But, with nine games left in the regular season, the Capitals have plenty of chances to crawl into the No. 3 spot.
The Maple Leafs have far less to play for as they have 100 points and are already in the playoffs. But, they can better their seeding in the East with a few wins. The New York Rangers are just two points ahead while the Carolina Hurricanes have a four-point lead in second place.

Capitals vs. Maple Leafs Prediction and Pick
The Capitals know what is at stake over the last couple of weeks of the season and have risen to the occasion. The Caps are on a four-game winning streak and have won 10 of their last 14 games overall. Washington has been phenomenal on the road during that stretch and hasn’t lost a road game since March 9.
The team's offense has been clicking too with a total of 23 goals scored in their last four games. Their defense has been strong too and allowed just 10 goals during that span. The Maple Leafs have also been on a tear despite clinching their playoff berth. Toronto is 2-2 in their last and 6-3 in their last nine games.
With both teams playing well on offense, and with a lot of motivation to win, I think we could be in for a slobberknocker North of the border tonight.
Pick: OVER 6.5 (-125)
