Cardinals vs. Blue Jays Prediction and Odds for Wednesday, July 27 (Toronto Stays Hot Behind Gausman)

As the Cardinals experienced in yesterday's 10-3 loss to the scorching-hot Blue Jays, it's kind of difficult to win baseball games when your best players are ineligible to play.

Nolan Arenado and MVP-favorite Paul Goldschmidt will not play the rest of the series, deeming their "research" on the vaccine more viable than the exhaustive work of scientists.

As a result, Toronto continues to have a giant advantage both physically and mentally over St. Louis. Adam Wainwright hopes to flip the Cardinals' fortunes today, though he's in a rut himself. He's got a 4.62 ERA as St. Louis lost each of his last four starts.

Kevin Guasman is due for some good luck himself, bringing a 3.00 ERA but a stellar 1.99 FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) into the contest.

Can Gausman give Toronto another convincing victory or will Wainwright pull off a miracle on the road?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook as we analyze this Cardinals vs Blue Jays matchup:

Cardinals vs Blue Jays Prediction and Pick

Toronto is on a ridiculous heater. After embarrassing the Red Sox, they opened up this series with the depleted (thanks to selfishness) Cardinals in dominant fashion, winning 10-3. With Kevin Gausman on the mound today, you can expect another resounding win.

Gausman's surface-level numbers aren't all that impressive, but he's been hampered by poor luck all season and it's time for things to turn around. Facing this Cardinals' club is a great start, as they've lost 14 of 17 as road underdogs.

Adam Wainwright is struggling too. He's got a 4.81 ERA on the road. Overall, he's been lucky too, compiling a 4.48 expected ERA compared to a 3.40 actual ERA.

Toronto handily leads MLB in OPS against right-handed pitchers this month, with a larger gap between the Blue Jays and second-place Yankees than between the Yankees and 13th-ranked Kansas City.

Give me the Blue Jays to stay hot and pick up a run-line victory. Good luck is coming for Gausman and bad luck will continue to come for Wainwright.
