Cardinals vs. Brewers Prediction and Odds for June 20 (Goldy's Hot Bat to Burn Burnes)
By Josh Yourish
We have a tie atop the NL Central and now have a four-game set to try and decide it, at least for now.
St. Louis travels to Milwaukee after dropping two games of their weekend series in Boston. Milwaukee was able to straighten things out over the weekend with a sweep of Cincinnati.
Both squads enter Monday at 38-30. Milwaukee has their ace and reigning Cy Young winner, Corbin Burnes on the mound. St. Louis goes with Miles Mikolas, who finished just short of a no-hitter his last time out.

Cardinals vs. Brewers Prediction and Pick
This is one of the best pitching matchups on the slate today. Their numbers are more similar than you might expect. Burnes has a slight edge in ERA, 2.52 to 2.62 for Mikolas. A slight edge in WHIP, 0.95 to 0.97 for Mikolas. Mikolas has one more win (5-4) compared to Burnes (4-4), but Burnes blows him out of the water when it comes to strikeouts with about four more per nine innings. Mikolas may not be able to quite go pitch for pitch with Corbin Burnes, but he has a better chance than most.
Burnes has actually not been himself in June allowing his ERA to balloon from 1.95 at the end of May. Mikolas however was one strike away from a no-hitter his last time out.
Paul Goldschmidt has been incredibly hot the past week with an OPS of 1.482, four home runs and 11 RBI. He is getting on base over half the time during this hot streak. Milwaukee doesn’t have a bat close to as hot as Goldschmidt in their lineup right now and in a close pitching matchup one swing could be the difference.
Let’s be like Paul Goldschmidt and take that big swing ourselves.
Pick: Cardinals +167
