As somebody who took the Giants to go over their season win total, I admit I’m a little concerned with their recent tailspin.

The Giants are on a five-game losing streak and have dropped seven of their last eight. Their lack of hitting during that span is outdone by only their terrible pitching. They have lost their last five games by a combined score of 33-11.

The Cardinals, on the other hand, are in the middle of a strong run of games after suffering a bit of a losing streak. The Cards are on a three-game run and 5-1 SU in their last six games. The STL beat the Giants handily in the first two games of this series and I am not sure that today will be any different.

Cardinals vs. Giants Prediction and Pick

While the Giants' issues at the plate are a new problem, they weren’t exactly hitting the cover off of the ball before. The same goes for their pitching. It was average up until last week.  Now San Fran is getting smoked day after day. This has led to an ATS record in their last five games of 0-5. As a home team, the Giants are just 3-10 against the spread with a win rate of 23.1 percent in 2022.

I wanted to exploit this trend, but the value just isn’t quite there on the Cardinals on the money line. So, I decided to pull out my favorite bet in baseball. The reverse run line. For those unaware, this is when you take an RL underdog and give them odds to cover -1.5. It’s the first time this season that I found a solid game to try and pull this off.

The Cardinals not only won the first two games of this series as underdogs, but they have done so with a run differential of +7. The Giants haven't scored more than two runs in their last four games and were held to one run in three of their last five.

Pick: Cardinals -1.5 +200 ALT Run Line
