Cardinals vs. Panthers Prediction: Don't Trust Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray in Week 4

It’s been a frustrating start to the 2022 season for the Arizona Cardinals, as the team has failed to really get anything going on offense. When you start as hot as the Cards did in 2021, a 1-2 beginning to the 2022 campaign is certainly a step back.

However, Arizona has a chance to steal a game on the road in Week 4 when it takes on Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers grabbed their first win of the 2022 season against the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.

Carolina’s defense is one of the better units in the league, but star running back Christian McCaffrey is banged up, which could hurt an already sluggish offense.

Let’s jump into the latest odds for this matchup:

Cardinals vs. Panthers Odds, Spread and Total

Cardinals vs. Panthers Odds, Spread and Total Movement in NFL Week 4

There hasn’t been much line movement in this matchup. Carolina was a two-point favorite at some books during the week, but it has settled at 1.5. The total has dropped a point from 44.5 to 43.5.

Cardinals vs. Panthers Best Bet and Prediction

Even though the total is dropping in this game, I think the UNDER is the best bet I’ll have in this one.

I simply don’t trust this Arizona offense, as it’s been extremely sluggish outside of the fourth quarter against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2.

The Cards currently rank 27th in the NFL in yards per play, and they are taking on a defense that is third in yards per play allowed this season.

There are plenty of reasons to be concerned about Carolina, too. The Panthers are just 21st in yards per play on offense this season, and they are 29th in passing offense. If CMC doesn’t suit up for this game, we have to trust Baker Mayfield to carry this offense?

I’ll pass.

Neither of these teams has scored more than 24 points in regulation in a game this season, and both offense have been helped by defensive scores along the way. I’m taking the UNDER in what could be a punt fest.
