The Philadelphia 76ers are playing shorthanded tonight after shipping some players to the Nets and while they await James Harden to join the team. The 76ers are coming off a win over the lowly Oklahoma City Thunder and have a meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in Philly. The Cavs are also off a win after coming back to beat the Indiana Pacers and are winners of four in a row heading into this road game. Cavaliers vs. 76ers Prediction and Pick

The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to overachieve this season and currently lead the Central Division with a 35-21 overall record. They have put together two impressive wins over the Pacers last week and another against a very dangerous Charlotte Hornets team. The team is led by the young trio of Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, and Darius Garland who have this team in second place in the East. Allen will have his hands full tonight with Joel Embiid and who is playing MVP ball right now. If he is able to slow down Embiid, there is a good chance that it will be enough for the Cavaliers to earn an upset win here. While he was snubbed from the All-State Game, Allen is a very capable player who has double-doubles in his last four games in a row. 

Embiid is coming off a 25 point game against the Thunder and has been on a hot streak since returning from injury. He leads the NBA in points per game at 29.3 and is basically matchup proof. 

While both teams are having seasons that exceed expectations, this is an important game that could derail one of these teams’ momentum. I like how the Cavs matchup here and am going out on a limb to take them outright tonight on the road.
