Cavaliers vs. Hornets Prediction and Odds: Cleveland Finishes Road Trip with a Win
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently below .500 and have lost two in a row, but this season’s edition of the Cavaliers have looked more competitive than last year’s. Cleveland lost to the Lakers, 113-101 on Friday, and the Phoenix Suns, 101-92 on Saturday.
Cleveland will play the fifth and final game of a five game road trip on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Hornets picked up a big win last night, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers by 12 points, winning 125-113. LaMelo Ball led the way in scoring for Charlotte with 27 points, and Kelly Oubre would have a strong performance off the bench, scoring 26.

Cavaliers vs. Hornets Prediction and Pick
Charlotte has been the NBA’s highest scoring team this season, averaging 118.6 points per game. Cleveland is 24th, scoring 102.6.
While the Cavaliers offense has been lower scoring, their defense has played well, allowing just 104.3 points per game, 10th in the NBA. The Hornets have allowed 115.3 points per game, 28th in the NBA.
Cleveland’s point differential is -1.7, while Charlotte’s is 3.3. The spread is currently five-points favoring the Hornets, but I believe the Cavaliers’ defense can keep this one close.
The Cavaliers and Hornets played on Oct. 22, and the Hornets won, 123-112, but Collin Sexton scored 33 points in the loss. If Cleveland can get a similar performance from Sexton, and one other man to step up on offense, the Cavaliers could win the game straight up.
I’m taking Cleveland on the spread at +5 and on the moneyline at +175.
