While the Orlando Magic will finish with the worst record in the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers could still finish in the top six. As of now, the Cavs are the No. 7 team in the East and would clinch a play-in berth if the season ended today. But, it doesn’t and the Cavs have a chance to avoid the need to play in altogether.

Despite the added importance of every game, the Cavs are stuck in a bit of a rut, having lost six of their last eight games. They did play a lot of good teams during that stretch to be fair. And they also beat the Magic 107-101 last Monday night.

The Magic, meanwhile, continue to play consistently awful basketball. They've have lost six games in a row and 11 of their last 15 down the stretch. Orlando is not only losing games straight up, but also failing to cover the spread. Their ATS record since March 15 is a very poor 2-8.

Here are the odds via WynnBET for tonight's big game.

Spread:

  • Cavaliers: -8.5 (-110)
  • Magic: +8.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Cavaliers: -360
  • Magic: +330

Total: 214.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Cavaliers vs. Magic Prediction and Pick

As I mentioned, the Cavaliers are three games back of the No. 5 Bulls and No. 6 Raptors. The Bulls have the tiebreaker while Cleveland has a leg up in that department should they tie with Toronto. With three games left to play, two of which are at home, each game becomes a must-win matchup. The good news for tonight is that the Magic are terrible in every aspect of the sport of basketball.

The Magic rank 30th in points per game on offense and 19th in points per game allowed on defense. Their offense is the worst in the league because of a 50 percent effective field goal percentage and an inability to shoot from behind the arc. Orlando is 28th in three-point shooting and makes just 12 per game on average. Orlando also ranks near the bottom in turnovers, steals, blocks, and fouls per game.

If Cleveland is serious about trying to get out of the play-in game, they should have no trouble rolling over a team that has given up.

Pick: Cavs -8.5 (-110)
